Trump Foresees 'Answers' Coming Soon in Nancy Guthrie's Disappearance

President Donald Trump hinted on Friday that federal involvement in Nancy Guthrie’s case may soon see new developments.

“There are some things coming from the Department of Justice that I think will probably be announced soon,” Trump mentioned to reporters aboard Air Force One. “Whether it’s the DOJ or the FBI, whoever it is, it could be decisive.” According to a CNN report.

He further stated, “A lot has happened in the last few hours regarding that horrible situation.”

Earlier this week, Trump shared on Truth Social that he was “devoting every resource” to finding the 84-year-old mother of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie, who went missing from her home between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

When asked about federal assistance, he expressed, “I think we’re doing a very good job on this,” and added, “I think it’s really positive that we’ve got a lead, and it seems to be quite strong, suggesting there could be some answers.”

He didn’t provide more details.

Federal agents became more involved in the case, which was initially managed by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, after a new memo about Guthrie was sent to CBS local station KOLD, prompting the FBI to investigate its authenticity.

Earlier this week, KOLD and TMZ received an email that allegedly demanded millions in Bitcoin for Guthrie’s return.

TMZ anchor Mary Coleman and founder Harvey Levin appear to be cooperating with authorities, though they haven’t disclosed specifics of the original memo, as investigators generally keep such information private to verify its authenticity.

Levin described the situation in detail on Fox News, stating that the author of the email was educated and had fashioned a coherent message, emphasizing that it didn’t seem hastily put together. “This is not an AI,” he noted.

The ransom note is said to have a Monday deadline, but little has been mentioned regarding any consequences for failing to meet that.

According to KOLD anchor Marky Coleman, the second email they received contained “classified information,” though she did not disclose anything else, suggesting the author included details to prove they were the same person from the original memo.

On Friday, authorities returned to Nancy Guthrie’s homes in Tucson and the Catalina Foothills to conduct additional searches. Officers were seen examining the desert surrounding her residence and even the roof of her home.

The reason for the renewed search has not been made public.

Investigators also took a device off the roof of Guthrie’s home.

Former NYPD Lieutenant Paul Mauro discussed this on Fox, explaining that it appeared to be a camera that might have been overlooked initially. “They recovered a new camera, one they apparently weren’t aware of and retained it,” Mauro remarked. “It’s unclear why it wasn’t found or what it might show.”

A blue Subaru SUV, believed to belong to Guthrie, was also removed from her garage and taken by tow truck to a facility near the sheriff’s office.

Authorities have not clarified the reason for the vehicle’s removal, according to reports.
