Recent photos have come to light showing Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg at a dinner party in California, which also included Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. This event took place years after Epstein’s legal troubles.
The images, released in new documents by the Justice Department, feature Musk at a table with Zuckerberg during a lavish dinner on August 2, 2015—an event Epstein previously claimed to have attended.
Beside Musk and Zuckerberg, other notable figures reportedly on the guest list included Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, and Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, according to emails sent by Epstein.
The party first came up in a message from Epstein to CBS News contributor Peter Attia, where Epstein expressed excitement about the dinner. “Where are you? I might be in Burbank, LA on Monday to see the interiors of other bbjs and have dinner with Musk, Thiel, and Zuckerberg,” he wrote.
Attia responded, “It’s a wonderful dinner.” Attia himself has faced scrutiny over his past connections with Epstein.
Epstein again referenced the dinner in an email to billionaire Tom Pritzker, the cousin of Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, mentioning his time with Zuckerberg, Thiel, and Hoffman. He didn’t elaborate on the dinner details, a topic first highlighted by Vanity Fair in 2019.
The report noted that Hoffman, formerly of PayPal, had organized the dinner in Palo Alto, California, intended for MIT neuroscientist Ed Boyden.
Musk maintained that he never attended any party hosted by Epstein. A spokesperson for Meta clarified that while Zuckerberg met Epstein, the dinner was not organized by him, and Zuckerberg had no further communication with Epstein after that night.
There are claims from Vanity Fair that Musk introduced Zuckerberg to Epstein, although Musk denied this, stating he didn’t have enough familiarity with Epstein to introduce anyone to him. “Epstein is clearly a weirdo and Zuckerberg is not my friend,” Musk remarked.
Following the release of the documents, Musk again reiterated that he had never been to an Epstein-hosted party. “Although I have never been to any of Epstein’s parties, I have repeatedly called for the prosecution of those who committed crimes with Epstein,” he stated on X.
Hoffman, for his part, has also denied any misconduct but expressed regret over his associations with Epstein and lamented the recent public disputes with Musk that emerged from the new revelations.
