Kim Delaney’s Husband Arrested
James Morgan, husband of “NYPD Blue” actress Kim Delaney, was taken into custody on Sunday night by the Marina del Rey Sheriff’s Office. According to booking records, his arrest occurred at approximately 11:25 p.m., and he faces misdemeanor charges. A court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department indicated that they responded to multiple calls related to noise complaints and verbal disturbances outside the couple’s residence.
This arrest followed Delaney’s previous action in October when she was granted a restraining order against Morgan, citing allegations of ongoing abuse and harassment. Reports suggest they’ve been engaged in divorce proceedings since March 2023.
Complicating matters, Morgan allegedly didn’t cooperate with authorities during their investigation, leading to his arrest on suspicion of obstructing police work.
In March 2025, both Delaney and Morgan were involved in another incident where they were arrested following a domestic disturbance at their home. It was reported that Morgan accused Delaney of attempting to run him over with a car. Subsequent investigations led to both being charged with assault involving a deadly weapon. Delaney faced charges for assault likely to cause serious bodily injury and was later released after being booked.
Delaney’s career spans several decades and includes roles in shows like “The OC,” “Army Wives,” and “Chicago Fire.” However, she has faced numerous personal struggles, particularly with alcoholism. Her first brush with legal trouble came in 2002, when she was arrested for drunk driving and subsequently entered rehabilitation multiple times. Delaney has often openly discussed her experiences, including a notable incident in 2011 when she was removed from a stage for erratic behavior during a speech.
Interestingly, Delaney and Morgan married in October 2022, only for her to file for divorce five months later. Allegations of domestic violence are part of the reason for this separation, with Delaney detailing incidents of abuse, including being grabbed and shouted at, in court documents. Despite neighbors intervening on multiple occasions, the restraining order she filed was eventually dropped because there was no follow-up in court.
