Tragic Accident Claims Lives at Westwood Supermarket
A grocery store employee who lost her life in a tragic accident at a Westwood supermarket last week was not scheduled to be working then. According to her heartbroken family, she had stepped in to cover a shift for a colleague.
On February 5, an elderly driver, aged 92, crashed into the 99 Ranch Market in Los Angeles, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuring six others, including Delice Rinosi, a mother of five.
Rinosi, described as “selfless,” took on this unexpected shift that morning, even though the store was meant to be closed.
Her family shared that she was known for her kindness and dependability, stating, “Her willingness to help others was evident until the very end.” A GoFundMe page has been established for her funeral and memorial expenses.
Delice Rinosi had just celebrated her 42nd birthday five days before her untimely death, leaving behind five children and six grandchildren.
“A few days prior to her passing, we celebrated her birthday with cake, along with her sister and nephew, who share the same birthday,” her family recalled.
The family expressed their sadness, saying, “She wanted us to throw a big party for all of us together next year, and we plan to honor that wish, even though she won’t be physically present. Our birthdays and holidays will never feel the same without her.” They added that their lives have changed forever and that her absence will always be felt.
Despite their grief, the family mentioned holding onto their faith, believing she is now at peace and that her love continues to live on through them and all the lives she impacted.
The other victims from this harrowing incident were identified as 28-year-old Ji Dao and 52-year-old Leonel Mateo. The collision occurred after the elderly driver first hit a bicycle before crashing into the store at a high speed, resulting in injuries to six other individuals.
Exclusive footage of the aftermath has emerged. As for the driver, her identity remains undisclosed, and the Los Angeles Police Department has indicated that she may not face charges. Investigations are ongoing to determine if a medical issue contributed to the accident, as well as any potential mechanical problems with her vehicle.
