Individual taken into custody for questioning related to Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping

A man has reportedly been arrested for questioning regarding the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, according to sources. The individual, whose identity has not yet been released, was detained late Tuesday during a traffic stop in Rio Rico, which is located south of Tucson near the Mexican border. Authorities had been pursuing him prior to the arrest.

FBI Director Kash Patel, during a segment on Fox News, mentioned that federal agents are looking into a “person of interest” related to the case.

“While I can’t disclose specifics to avoid compromising the investigation, I can say that our technological advancements and partnerships have led to significant progress in the last 36 to 48 hours. We’re confident we’re focusing on a potential person of interest,” Patel stated.

This update follows the release of video showing armed and masked individuals approaching the home of Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother.

Patel highlighted the significance of the video, noting that it represents a breakthrough in the ongoing investigation, which now has reached ten days since Nancy’s disappearance. “We didn’t just gather this kind of data; we also worked with our private sector partners to find that someone may be involved in the area tied to this incident,” he told Sean Hannity on Fox News.

“In any inquiry, an individual is considered a person of interest until they are either eliminated or found to have been directly involved,” he continued.

Despite these hopeful developments, Patel expressed a degree of caution, stating that he did not want to raise public expectations unnecessarily.

“The FBI is making strides, but I don’t want to generate false hope about what we’re doing. Still, we have made a significant move forward in this investigation,” he remarked.

It remains uncertain whether officials have ascertained Nancy’s condition or status. This notable advancement comes more than a week after she was last seen on January 31st, when she was dropped off at her Tucson home following dinner with her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, and their daughter, Annie.
