AG Bondi hearing turns chaotic over Epstein victims with clashes involving Democrats

Chaos During Attorney General Bondi’s Testimony

Attorney General Pam Bondi’s appearance before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday was anything but calm. The session quickly turned chaotic with shouting and interruptions as tensions flared, particularly between Bondi and several Democratic members.

Among those present were some of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims. Rep. Pramila Jayapal from Washington seized the moment to urge Bondi to turn and apologize directly for what she perceived as the Department of Justice’s failure to protect these victims. Bondi, however, dismissed the comment, accusing Jayapal of using “theatrics.”

Jayapal asked, “In your opening statement, you apologized for what the survivors endured at Epstein’s hands. Will you now apologize to them for the unacceptable release of the Epstein files?” Bondi began to respond but was quickly interrupted.

During the hearing, Jayapal pressed, “Let’s turn back time, Attorney General Bondi.” Bondi attempted to finish her response, but Jayapal insisted, “No, I’ve asked a specific question.” This prompted a back-and-forth with Chairman Jim Jordan trying to intervene, leading Jayapal to assert that the focus should be on Bondi taking responsibility for the Justice Department’s actions.

Despite Jordan’s efforts to defend Bondi, tensions only escalated. Jayapal challenged the accuracy of Jordan’s statements, leading Bondi to retort, “That’s not accurate, Mr. Chairman,” and the two began arguing over time allocation.

In a later exchange, Rep. Jerrold Nadler also confronted Bondi, expressing frustration over the lack of charges against Epstein’s co-conspirators. Bondi’s responses were met with interruptions, and she shot back at Nadler, dismissing his questioning as “ridiculous.”

This back-and-forth led to more chaos, with Ranking Member Jamie Raskin calling for more time and accusing Bondi of trying to “filibuster” the session.

After a heated exchange, Bondi was given a platform to speak once more. She argued that the ongoing discussion about Epstein has been neglected for years, saying that the issue had not been addressed during the Obama administration. She suggested that Democrats were now bringing it up to distract from positive outcomes under the Trump administration, especially concerning the stock market.
