GOP representative responds to Kimmel’s joke about comments on illegal immigrants

Republican Congresswoman Lisa McClain recently criticized Jimmy Kimmel in a social media post, accusing the late-night host of misrepresenting her comments about illegal immigrants. On his show, Kimmel made a joke regarding McClain’s statements at a news conference, suggesting her remarks were linked to the Epstein file.

In a clip Kimmel played, McClain expressed her concerns about criminals among illegal immigrants, calling them “monsters” involved in severe crimes, including murder and sexual assault. Kimmel, responding to her comments, remarked, “What was that? Oh, wasn’t that about the men in Epstein’s file? Who was she screaming about — oh, immigrants.”

He also revisited McClain’s statements, where she claimed that Democrats aimed to release criminal illegal immigrants into communities and “celebrate” them. She emphatically criticized this, saying, “Let’s demonize ICE agents and celebrate those who rape children.” Kimmel’s retort implied that McClain’s focus was misdirected, criticizing her political party for allegedly protecting offenders tied to the Epstein scandal.

In her response on X, McClain reposted Kimmel’s segment, saying, “Last night I saw you trying to twist my words. Let me be clear: illegal immigrants who murder or rape Americans should be deported immediately.” She urged for direct conversations, challenging Kimmel and others who make light of serious issues while enabling dangerous individuals.
