Nancy Guthrie: Second demand for Bitcoin received regarding kidnapper information

TMZ reported that it has received a second email from an individual demanding 1 Bitcoin in exchange for information regarding the suspect involved in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie. The sender expressed feelings of not being taken seriously, stating in the message, “I’m not being taken seriously.”

The person behind this request has asked for one Bitcoin, which is valued at about $65,000, claiming they fear retaliation if they reveal the kidnapper’s identity. The message also mentioned that this would be their last request and that they were concerned about facing consequences similar to those experienced by Carlos Palazuelos, who was arrested in Rio Rico, Arizona, just this past Tuesday.

Interestingly, no transactions involving Bitcoin have occurred, according to reports. Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker shared his skepticism regarding the initial email sent to TMZ, suggesting it might be a fraudulent setup. He stated on Fox News’ “The Faulkner Focus,” “I don’t think everything that TMZ has brought up has worked. While TMZ certainly garners attention and aids in connecting investigative efforts, there might be a deceitful angle here.” He wasn’t entirely dismissive, acknowledging that he could be mistaken but firmly emphasizing his doubts.

As tensions rise, a third letter allegedly related to the suspect has surfaced, increasing concerns about the validity of these ransom demands. The investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance is ongoing.

The timeline of events surrounding her disappearance began on January 31, 2026, when she was dropped off at her home. The series of concerning incidents that followed raises more questions about what truly occurred that night.
