Anti-Israel Activist’s Controversial Remarks on Dogs in NYC
Nerdeen Kiswani, an anti-Israel activist, suggested that the current dog waste problem in New York City aligns with certain Islamic beliefs regarding keeping dogs as indoor pets. “As we’ve stated before, they’re dirty,” she remarked.
This commentary originates from a discussion criticizing the amount of dog poop littering the city’s snow-covered sidewalks. Following the uproar, Kiswani articulated her views, claiming, “Islam is finally becoming prominent in New York City.” She emphasized that while dogs are important in society, they shouldn’t be kept indoors, repeating her belief that dogs are unclean.
Later, Kiswani responded to backlash from “Zionists,” implying they would react negatively to her statements but clarified she was just joking. “Zionists will see this and laugh, thinking they’re doing something,” she said. “It’s a joke. What concerns me is if your dog poops everywhere and you don’t clean it up.”
However, this raises questions. The sanitation issue NYC faces isn’t about dogs being indoors; rather, it’s about what’s happening outside. How does keeping a dog outdoors rectify that? The real issue seems to be negligent owners who don’t pick up after their pets.
In addition, Kiswani has faced scrutiny for her past actions, such as posting and later deleting pictures of herself with known terrorists. One image from 2019 featured a deported individual linked to terrorist bombings, while another from 2016 included a photo of a convicted terrorist on her wall.
In 2020, she was labeled as “anti-Semite of the year.” Kiswani is also the founder of “Within Our Lifetime,” a movement advocating for the end of Israel. She has led numerous rallies declaring support for the complete liberation of Palestine, garnering attention for her controversial memes and statements.
So, I wonder—should she be deported or should we just focus on getting a dog?
