Following the death of renowned actor Robert Duvall, who passed away at 95, numerous celebrities came forward to pay their respects, including Adam Sandler, Alec Baldwin, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

On Monday, Duvall’s wife, Luciana Pedraza Duval, announced his passing through his official Facebook page. She shared a heartfelt message: “Yesterday we said goodbye to our beloved husband, dear friend and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love and peace.”

The details surrounding his death haven’t been revealed yet.

Adam Sandler, who starred alongside Duvall in the 2022 Netflix film Hustle, took to social media to express his sorrow. Sharing a series of photos, he described Duvall as “funny as hell” and “one of the best actors ever.” He added that Duvall was a wonderful person to talk to and laugh with, saying, “We loved him very much.” Sandler also encouraged fans to watch Duvall’s legendary films.

Alec Baldwin also honored Duvall, recalling some of his most celebrated performances in a brief video shared on his show. Baldwin highlighted Duvall’s impactful role in A Tale of Alabama, where he remembered how Duvall’s silent performance as Boo Radley left a lasting impression. “Every time I watch that movie, the scenes with Duvall really stick out to me,” Baldwin remarked.

Baldwin mentioned the connections Duvall forged in the industry, touching on his collaborations in iconic films such as Apocalypse Now, Lonesome Dove, and The Godfather, implying Duvall’s presence was felt widely across cinema.

He recalled a personal encounter with Duvall during a celebrity tennis match, saying, “He was very gruff… but he was a gentleman. What a great actor. As great as the greats are.” Baldwin noted Duvall should be mentioned alongside legendary actors like De Niro, Brando, and Nicholson.

Concluding his tribute, Baldwin said, “The world… lost a great, great actor.” He expressed his condolences, especially for Duvall’s loved ones.

Jamie Lee Curtis also shared a still image of Duvall from his iconic role in The Godfather, calling him “the best consigliere the screen has ever seen.” Michael Keaton, who worked with Duvall in the film The Paper, reflected on their friendship, sharing fond memories of their conversations about horses.
