The presidential plane has received a makeover, showcasing President Trump’s preferred gold shade.
Aircraft designated for the president, vice president, first lady, and other officials will now display Trump’s favored red, gold, and blue colors, mirroring the scheme of his private jet, “Trump Force One.”
The Air Force Two jet, typically reserved for the vice president, has already undergone this color change. Images sourced from online enthusiasts show a Boeing C-32A emerging from Majors Airport in Greenville, Texas, a spot known for maintaining and upgrading the presidential jets.
New images detail that the plane’s underside is navy blue against a white backdrop, with red and gold accents breaking the scheme. Like Trump’s personal aircraft, this jet’s tail includes a large American flag fluttering in the wind.
An Air Force representative mentioned that the plane should return to regular service in the months ahead.
The Air Force operates eight C-32As, and four of them are slated for repainting in Trump’s selected colors.
The cost of this repainting remains uncertain, as the White House hasn’t responded to inquiries.
The new aircraft—specifically a Boeing 747 designated as the VC-25B—will eventually take the place of the older Air Force One fleet and will also don Trump’s chosen color palette upon rollout.
“The Air Force is implementing new paint requirements (red, white, gold, and navy blue) for the VC-25B and other executive airlift units,” a spokesperson confirmed.
Historically, presidents have advocated for patriotic hues on the Air Force’s fleet.
Trump’s new colors will replace the long-standing robin egg blue and white, a design carefully selected by former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, which has been the hallmark of presidential planes since the Kennedy era.
Some government aircraft, especially those under the Department of Homeland Security, have already adopted these Trump-like colors. For instance, a plane used by Melania Trump on a trip to Mar-a-Lago in December featured this new design.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem also utilized one of the updated Gulfstream 700s for an official visit to Arizona in February.
Additionally, the donated Qatari jet, modified for Trump’s personal use, also flaunts his colors while work continues on the new Boeing Air Force One, which is running behind schedule and over budget. This modified plane is expected for usage this summer.
In the meantime, many other VIP and governmental planes are being repainted in these new hues as they undergo maintenance, according to the Air Force.
Trump has expressed his desire for presidential vehicles that transport senior officials to showcase his signature navy blue, deep red, and gold.
During his first term, he had directed a Boeing jet—designed as the new Air Force One—to be painted in these colors, though former President Joe Biden halted that initiative upon taking office. Now, during his second term, Trump has reinstated that vision.
