Sharon Stone Stands Up for Aging and Nudity

Sharon Stone isn’t shy about her views on aging and nudity, and she made that clear in a series of Instagram videos this week. The 67-year-old actress, who has recently embraced painting, shared a particularly notable video where she recalled an incident in an art studio in Los Angeles. There, a film crew asked her to take down a nude painting, which she found quite frustrating.

“Should we be afraid when we look in the mirror?” she asked in the video. “Why should we be afraid of ourselves as humans? That’s such a strange idea to me.”

Speaking about her body, Stone described it as something akin to real estate. “I live here. I wake up in it, I sleep in it. It’s my apartment.” Her statement included a rhetorical question about why, in 2026, society is still so apprehensive about aging and enjoying life. “We are more than our appearance. We’re artists, mothers, teachers… the list goes on!”

The painting, titled “Goddess,” featured a naked figure, and she used it to highlight what she sees as double standards in society. “We’re scared of on-screen nudity, but why don’t we fear violence and the constant negative imagery we face daily?” she challenged.

In another post, Stone stood by the same painting, celebrating the female form. “We are the goddesses of creation… we build homes, families, and lives. Why should we be afraid of that?” she exclaimed.

Support poured in from famous friends like Courtney Love and Debi Mazar in the comments section of her videos.

This isn’t the first time Stone has spoken on the topic of aging. In a March 2025 interview, she humorously referred to having “pleated armpits,” seeing it instead as a mark of strength. “I had beautiful arms, and now they’re strong, like angel wings,” she said. “So what if they have pleats? Maybe that makes them great.”

In a previous discussion, she called those who are ashamed of growing older “stupid and ungrateful.” She emphasized her gratitude for simply being alive and healthy, noting that not everyone gets that privilege.

During the pandemic, Stone shifted her focus to visual art, achieving recognition with solo exhibitions across various cities, including Los Angeles and Berlin. Her latest work dives into themes of loss and liberation, showcasing her artistic evolution.

Looking ahead, Stone will also return to television, starring in the upcoming Season 3 of HBO’s “Euphoria,” set to premiere on April 12.
