Epstein Files Uncover Ghislaine Maxwell's Key Involvement in Establishing the Clinton Global Initiative, Despite Hillary Clinton's Claim of Having Met 'A Few Times'

Clinton’s Connection to Ghislaine Maxwell Surface Again

Hillary Clinton has stated that she met Ghislaine Maxwell, a close associate of Jeffrey Epstein, “several times.” This comes even though it’s commonly known that Maxwell attended Chelsea Clinton’s wedding and was involved in the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), which was one of Bill Clinton’s notable projects after his presidency.

Recent documents from the Justice Department have shed light on Maxwell’s significant involvement in Clinton’s political endeavors. Hillary Clinton recently remarked that she met Maxwell multiple times while trying to separate herself from both Maxwell and Epstein, both of whom have been linked to various allegations over the years.

Mysteriously, Maxwell herself referred to her role as “very central” in the formation of the Clinton Global Initiative during a Justice Department interview last year. She also claimed that Epstein was engaged in the initiative’s activities.

The documents related to Epstein suggest that Maxwell indeed played a crucial part in establishing the CGI. She contributed to budget discussions during the initiative’s first conference, engaged with aides of Clinton, and collaborated with Publicis Groupe, the company that organized CGI’s inaugural event.

Interestingly, Maxwell arranged for a payment of $1 million related to Publicis’ services for what was termed the “Clinton Project.” Reports highlighted that the source of these funds remains unknown, raising questions about whether Epstein might have been involved in financing the payments.

After receiving wiring instructions, Epstein reached out to Maxwell with a note asking why the payment of $1 million was necessary and what the next steps would be.

It’s important to note that Maxwell was instrumental in launching the CGI in 2004, which predates Epstein’s subsequent legal troubles in 2006 and 2008. She has faced serious legal issues herself, including charges related to her role in Epstein’s activities.

CGI was envisioned as a version of the annual Davos gathering, but with an emphasis on philanthropy. Bill Clinton has said that he ceased communication with Epstein prior to the latter’s 2006 indictment.

Angel Ureña, a spokesperson for the Clintons, asserted that Bill Clinton was unaware of Epstein’s criminal activities. “Once it became clear that Epstein was not genuinely committed to philanthropy, further contact was deemed unnecessary,” she remarked. “The truth remains on our side.”

Maxwell, now sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in the abuse of minors alongside Epstein, was mentioned in documents released following new legislation aimed at increasing transparency regarding Epstein’s activities.

Maxwell also pointed out that her attendance at Chelsea Clinton’s 2010 wedding with her then-boyfriend, a significant donor to the Clinton Foundation, was widely recognized. She claimed, “President Clinton was a friend of mine, not Epstein’s.”

Interestingly, Epstein had previously contributed to Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign in 1992, as well as to Hillary Clinton’s Senate run in 1999. Richard Attias, a former executive at Publicis, noted that Maxwell was pivotal in founding CGI, drawing inspiration from Davos in collaboration with President Clinton.
