Elementary school staff member receives 51-year prison term for sexual offenses involving four boys

A former elementary school teacher from Wisconsin has been sentenced to decades in prison for horrific sexual crimes involving four young boys, one of whom was assaulted during a sleepover in front of others.

Anna Marie Crocker, who worked as a teacher’s aide at Riverview Elementary in Silver Lake, received a sentence of 51 1/2 years for sexually assaulting two boys aged 12 and 14 and coercing two other teenagers into sexual acts. This was confirmed by the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office.

The 34-year-old, a mother of four, allegedly sent explicit messages, videos, and photos to her victims.

District Attorney Xavier Solis highlighted the case as a profound betrayal of trust. He stated that the damage caused is significant and long-lasting, emphasizing that those in educational positions exploiting children will face serious consequences.

After joining the school district as a substitute in 2020 and transitioning to a full-time role the following year, Crocker was arrested in October 2024 for abusing a 12-year-old boy during a sleepover last winter.

The victim reported to authorities that while he was sleeping in the basement, Crocker woke him up, removed his clothing, and assaulted him, despite his attempts to push her away.

Subsequently, she contacted him, insisting he apologize for the incident and warned him not to disclose it, even though other children had seen what happened.

Crocker was also involved with a 14-year-old boy, exchanging explicit messages and photos on Snapchat before assaulting him in a parking lot in August 2024.

She is suspected of making inappropriate advances towards other boys aged 13 and 16 on social media and reportedly attempted to entice an older boy to her home for sex the day before her arrest.

During the sentencing hearing, Crocker pleaded with the judge for a lighter sentence, expressing remorse for her actions.

“I accept full responsibility,” she said tearfully, acknowledging the harm caused.

She expressed sorrow for the lasting pain and trauma inflicted on the victims, admitting that they would carry the burden of this experience for life.

In addition to her lengthy sentence, Crocker must register as a sex offender for life, and prosecutors noted that she won’t be eligible for release until she is 85.
