Truck Crashes into Oregon Home

In a surprising incident early in the morning on February 13th, a truck launched about 100 feet into the air before crashing into a house in Tigard, Oregon, located approximately 16 miles south of Portland.

Witnesses have stated that the driver was speeding and behaving erratically just moments before hitting a dirt pile on the roadside. This collision propelled the truck through a three-foot brick wall and into the side of a residential property.

Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. The police expressed gratitude for the support from neighboring emergency services during the response. “We’re thankful that no one was seriously hurt,” they mentioned in an official statement.

Upon arrival, officers found both the driver and his passenger trapped in the vehicle, with the driver unconscious. Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue managed to extract them, and both were subsequently taken to the hospital, suffering from only minor injuries.

The driver, identified as 33-year-old Jacob Hankins, faces charges for reckless driving and endangerment.

The damage to the house was considerable, leaving a gaping hole. David Brudnoch, the homeowner, described the chaotic moment: “I woke up to a loud bang and rumbling throughout the house—it was quite surreal.” He recalled his wife, who was knitting nearby, starting to scream his name in alarm.

Local reports indicate that the family is currently residing in a hotel while waiting to hear back from their insurance about covering the repairs. Mr. Brudnoch reported that the truck had demolished what used to be their bathroom.
