Christy Carlson Romano Reacts to Shia LaBeouf’s Arrest

Christy Carlson Romano has voiced her discontent regarding her former “Even Stevens” co-star Shia LaBeouf following his recent arrest in New Orleans.

In a new Instagram clip, she quipped, “You stopped ‘insert yourself’ when asked about your old co-stars.” The video features her lip-syncing, “I’m not involved. You made it clear.”

Romano, who recently shared her own battle with cancer, captioned the post, “I’m too big to fry🐟.” While she didn’t directly call out LaBeouf, her comments came just hours after he was taken into custody.

In previous YouTube videos, she mentioned feeling some distance between them, noting that he was “salty” about his career taking off post-“Even Stevens.” She said, “We used to see each other every day, and then we didn’t see each other for years until he became such a big star.” That transition left her feeling a bit frustrated.

Romano expressed that even as LaBeouf rose to Hollywood fame with movies like “Transformers,” she carried a sense of regret for choosing to focus on her education instead of pursuing acting full time.

She also clarified their relationship, stating that, contrary to popular belief, they were simply “co-workers” and never had a close friendship. “To be honest, I don’t know what he thought of me. He never let me know,” she reflected. It seems they missed a chance to forge a deeper connection.

LaBeouf, now 39, found himself arrested on Tuesday after being involved in a brawl during Mardi Gras. He was charged with two counts of simple assault and spent some time at Orleans Parish Jail before being released.

A local bartender described LaBeouf’s behavior as “terrorizing the town,” while a doorman from a bar said he was “somewhat belligerent” when he entered without a shirt or cash.

After his release, LaBeouf showed little concern, reportedly mocking his arrest by dancing with the documents in his mouth. Additionally, it has come to light that he and his wife, Mia Goth, secretly parted ways about a year ago. The duo married in 2016 and welcomed a daughter in 2022.
