Man Shot Dead at Mar-a-Lago Was Previously Reported Missing by His Family

Incident at Mar-a-Lago Involving Armed Man

An armed individual shot and killed early Sunday morning at Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump’s resort in Palm Beach, Florida, has been identified as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin. His family reported him missing around the same time as the shooting took place.

According to reports, law enforcement fatally shot Martin after he breached the secure perimeter of Mar-a-Lago around 1:30 a.m. He was reportedly armed with a shotgun and carrying a gas canister.

Martin, a resident of North Carolina, was entered into a missing persons database following a notification to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office by a relative. This led to his identification as the individual involved in the shooting incident.

After the event, a box of shotguns was discovered in his car, suggesting he might have had a larger plan. He allegedly gained access to the resort through a gate as another vehicle left, which raises questions about security protocols.

In a response to the incident, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt stated that the Secret Service acted quickly to neutralize a “deranged individual” who entered Trump’s residence during the night. She emphasized the ongoing efforts of federal law enforcement to ensure safety for all Americans.

Leavitt also expressed concerns about the Democrats’ decision to shut down certain departments, calling it “shameful and reckless.”
