Bill and Hillary Clinton to give sworn testimony regarding Jeffrey Epstein this week

Clintons Set to Testify Before House Oversight Committee

Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are expected to face questioning this week from the House Oversight Committee regarding their connections to Jeffrey Epstein.

After initially resisting the committee’s subpoenas, the Clintons agreed to appear before lawmakers in early February following a prolonged series of discussions and votes that deemed them in contempt of Congress.

Hillary Clinton is set to testify on February 26, while Bill Clinton will follow on February 27. However, these hearings will take place behind closed doors.

The committee decided to hold the depositions at the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York, instead of in Washington, D.C., citing scheduling conflicts. A spokesperson mentioned that the depositions would adhere to House and committee rules.

Committee Chairman James Comer emphasized the importance of the Clintons’ testimonies in understanding Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s alleged sex trafficking operations and how they managed to avoid scrutiny.

“This investigation aims for transparency and accountability for the American public and survivors,” Comer remarked.

The Clintons initially skipped the Congressional subpoena but eventually pressed for a hearing.

Bill Clinton described his actions on social media, stating he’d demanded the full release of the Epstein file and submitted a sworn statement detailing his knowledge. He expressed frustration that, despite agreeing to testify, the committee still seemed to be playing political games. He called for a more straightforward approach, so the American people could understand the situation better.

Comer hasn’t dismissed the possibility of a public hearing but asserts that private depositions must occur first. He indicated that if the depositions offer significant insights, the committee may decide to convene a public hearing afterward.
