Woman taken into custody for reportedly creating Molotov cocktails in a suburban city.

A woman from Texas was taken into custody after police reported that she tested a Molotov cocktail, which resulted in a series of fires in a Dallas suburb.

Last week, officials from the Commerce Police Department were looking into various fires that occurred in Commerce, Texas, within a span of 36 hours.

On Saturday night, an officer noticed flames in Centennial Park, about 110 miles from Dallas. He saw an unfamiliar woman exiting the area, which prompted him to investigate.

When confronted, the woman, later identified as Jamia Howell, was found with nine homemade explosives, or Molotov cocktails, in her backpack. There were also a lighter and other materials used for creating explosives in her belongings.

While in police custody, Howell supposedly admitted to “testing” multiple Molotov cocktails at various spots throughout Commerce.

Howell has been charged with arson and possession of a prohibited weapon, with the possibility of further charges as the investigation progresses. The police haven’t provided immediate comments regarding the case.
