Florida man reportedly stabs grandmother during disagreement over Mother's Day meal

Grandson Arrested After Stabbing Grandmother Over Mother’s Day Dinner Dispute

A man from Florida has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his grandmother more than a dozen times following a disagreement about a Mother’s Day dinner.

According to court documents, the incident took place on May 10 around 1:26 p.m. in West Palm Beach. Police were called to a home after receiving a report of a woman who had been stabbed multiple times.

When officers arrived, they found Kio Nottage, 29, and his cousin involved in a confrontation in the driveway. Later, authorities confirmed the victim was Nottage’s 74-year-old grandmother. It seems that an argument erupted after she returned home from shopping for Mother’s Day dinner. Nottage had asked her to help carry the groceries inside, which is when things escalated.

Documents reveal that the grandmother informed police that Nottage became increasingly upset and stated that “someone is going to die today” before grabbing a kitchen knife.

He reportedly stabbed her around 11 times. Nottage’s cousin attempted to intervene but was threatened by Nottage with a knife, prompting the cousin to flee and seek help.

Following the stabbing, Nottage was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. He is currently being held without bail on charges including attempted first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Meanwhile, the grandmother was transported to a local hospital for surgery and is now in critical condition, as reported.

Authorities have reached out to Nottage’s attorney and the West Palm Beach Police Department for further comments.
