Controversy Surrounds FBI Director’s Olympic Appearance

Rep. Seth Moulton from Massachusetts recently expressed his disapproval of FBI Director Kash Patel, suggesting he “doesn’t love America.” This comment came during a discussion about Patel’s attendance at the Olympic hockey game in Milan, where he celebrated in the locker room with the gold medal-winning Team USA men’s team.

During the segment, CNN host John Berman noted that Patel appeared to be enjoying himself, sipping beer in the locker room, which led to questions regarding the appropriateness of his presence there.

Berman directly asked Moulton about Patel’s legitimacy in attending such an event. Moulton replied, “If Kash Patel loved America, he would support the Constitution. He would do so with his agency and cease firing individuals endeavoring to uphold the law, which doesn’t align with Donald Trump’s political interests.”

“When Donald Trump pardons the hundreds of insurrectionists who attempted to overturn our government on January 6th, Patel will finally speak out,” Moulton added. “Kash Patel doesn’t love America; he loves Donald Trump and is using his position for political gain. That’s what was happening in that locker room.”

There was no immediate response from the FBI or Justice Department regarding these criticisms.

Berman pointed out that Patel was in Europe for official business and ended up attending the game. Patel himself later tweeted, “Dear Very Concerned Media: Yes, I love America and was extremely humbled when one of my friends, Team USA’s newest gold medalist, invited me to his locker room to celebrate this historic moment. The greatest country on earth, the greatest sport on earth.”

The U.S. men’s hockey team triumphed over Canada to win the gold medal in a sudden-death overtime match.

Patel’s spokesperson, Ben Williamson, addressed multiple reports about the director’s presence at the Olympic event, particularly regarding coverage from CBS and MS NOW.

Online criticism of Patel’s statement emerged, with some arguing that he should not have participated in the celebrations. The left-leaning media outlet Medias Touch even accused Patel’s team of misrepresenting the trip.
