Cam Jordan Weighs In on Saints and Jets
A TMZ cameraman recently caught up with Saints defensive end Cam Jordan while he was out. The focus was on the Saints and their chances for next season’s playoffs.
Jordan seemed hopeful about the team’s future, especially with second-year quarterback Tyler Schau. However, he threw some shade at the Jets while responding to the question. “I hope so. Isn’t that the goal? I don’t think anyone spends the offseason thinking, Okay, just win three games. I’ll leave that up to the Jets,” he remarked.
It’s worth noting that the Jets just wrapped up a disappointing 3-14 season, well below what was anticipated when Aaron Glenn stepped in as head coach. In fact, they haven’t made the playoffs since 2010 and have only won ten games in a season once in the last 15 years.
Even former quarterback Aaron Rodgers couldn’t resist taking a jab at the Jets. Reflecting on his time there recently, he mentioned the stark difference from his experience in Pittsburgh, pointing out, “One of the things I like about it, and this is the complete opposite of where I was, is that the boat has no leaks at all. We have challenges and adversity every year, but to focus solely on football is fantastic.”
The criticism of the Jets isn’t likely to let up anytime soon. There’s enormous pressure on Glenn to turn around the team’s fortune after such a rough first season. The front office has its work cut out, too.
Looking ahead, the Jets hold the No. 2 overall draft pick in April. But they’re also facing a decision about running back Breece Hall, who will become a free agent in March unless they can come to an agreement. Hall mentioned recently, “Right now it’s like whatever happens, happens.”
