McAfee Celebrates U.S. Olympic Hockey Team’s Win with Surprise Gesture
Pat McAfee took center stage at Miami’s E11EVEN nightclub, making headlines after seizing the U.S. Olympic men’s hockey team’s check. This occurred just a day after their thrilling 2-1 overtime win against Canada for the gold medal in Milan-Cortina.
While the team enjoyed their celebration, a video featuring McAfee aired on the club’s screens. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you everyone for representing the United States of America in such a wonderful way. It was an honor to see you win. Enjoy.” Dressed in an American flag tank top, his enthusiasm was clear.
Captured in a TikTok video, McAfee delighted the players by announcing, “Tonight…all your drinks are on me @11 Miami and the rest of the United States. Cheers, everyone, we appreciate you.”
The celebration racked up more than $150,000 in champagne, which is quite a hefty tab, as reported.
Players were also spotted enjoying Michelob Ultra beer during the festivities. It’s worth noting that McAfee is set to return to ESPN’s daily show from his Super Bowl break soon.
The men’s hockey team has had a whirlwind week. They sparked significant conversation online after a lighthearted phone call with former President Donald Trump, who humorously remarked about needing to invite the women’s team to the White House after their own gold medal win.
This interaction drew some criticism. The women’s team, having had scheduling conflicts, previously declined Trump’s invitation.
Additionally, some of the men’s team members were present at Trump’s recent State of the Union address, where he mentioned that a women’s team would also be visiting the White House shortly. Notably, he announced that goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, who shone with 41 saves during the gold medal match, would receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a major honor.
