He pointed out three main benefits of drinking warm water before diving into your day.
Dr. Sood remarked, “There are three reasons you should start drinking more water on an empty stomach.”
Addressing his 2.7 million followers, he shared insights that were reported.
“First, it can enhance your digestion,” he stated. “Warm water aids in breaking down foods that might otherwise be tricky to digest.”
He also mentioned that there’s research suggesting warm water could help with constipation.
This was corroborated by scientific studies published in the Gastroenterology Nursing journal in 2016, which showed that drinking water at 37 degrees Celsius positively influenced intestinal movements.
Dr. Sood elaborated on how warm water might assist those aiming to lose weight. “It can provide a temporary boost to your metabolism,” he explained. “This happens because your body needs to adjust the warm water to your core temperature, which slightly increases your metabolic rate and aids in burning calories.”
