Nonbinary suspect reportedly shoots at Border Patrol agent — event strikingly reminiscent of last year's deadly incident.

A suspect identifying as non-binary reportedly opened fire on a Border Patrol agent during a traffic stop in New Hampshire on Saturday. This incident arises about a year after an extremist trans group allegedly shot and killed an operative in Vermont.

A criminal complaint examined by Blaze News shows charges were filed Tuesday against Blue Zeke Dairy, also known as Karan Zeke Dailey, related to an event from February 21.

“This individual previously held a Massachusetts driver’s license indicating they were male, and now has a New Hampshire license that identifies them as female.”

According to an FBI special agent’s affidavit, Border Patrol agents monitoring the U.S.-Canada border in Stewartstown, New Hampshire, came upon a 2012 Honda Civic around 11:30 p.m.

Daley, who was driving the car alone, gave the agent his New Hampshire driver’s license. When asked if he was using a different name, he allegedly “immediately drove away,” leading the officer to pursue him at a distance.

The affidavit claims that Daley drove to the Pittsburgh Port of Entry, stopping at a closed gate. When the officer exited his vehicle, Daley attempted to flee.

While trying to turn his vehicle around, Daley allegedly fired a handgun at the officers.

Border Patrol agents responded by shooting at Daley, causing him to lose control and crash into a snowbank.

A Smith & Wesson SD9 2.0 handgun and ammunition were reportedly found in Daley’s vehicle.

The affidavit detailed that there was probable cause to believe that Daley committed attempted murder of a federal officer and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Reports indicate investigators have yet to speak with Daley, who was severely injured in the gunfire.

The Ministry of Justice stated that Daley is receiving treatment in a New Hampshire hospital while under guard.

U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan informed WMUR that investigators have talked with “people connected to the defendant.”

Creegan remarked it was a “miracle” that the Border Patrol agent escaped without injuries.

“We are continuing to look into everything about this individual, including possible motives, why he was in the border area that night, and why he fired at Border Patrol agents who were just doing their jobs,” Creegan noted.

WMUR obtained court documents revealing that Daley claims to be non-binary and had a name change approved in 2024.

“This individual had a previous Massachusetts driver’s license that listed him as male and now has a New Hampshire driver’s license that lists him as female. Therefore, it seems reasonable to assume that the individual is transitioning,” Creegan added.

In January 2025, a Vermont Border Patrol agent was fatally shot during a traffic stop on Interstate 91. Allegedly involved were two individuals linked to a group called Zizians, primarily composed of members identifying as transgender or non-binary.

Currently, there are no verified connections between Daley and Zizian.

“If something targeted Border Patrol agents in that area, it would make sense to investigate potential links to a wider network or group, especially given the apparent connections in previous homicide investigations involving Border Patrol agents,” Creegan explained.
