Stephen Chan, the White House communications director, criticized Jimmy Kimmel’s remarks regarding President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, labeling the late-night host a “sad, angry, insufferable idiot.” He further reminded the public about Kimmel’s past use of blackface.
In a post on X, Chan stated, “Jimmy Kimmel is a sad, angry, insufferable idiot who probably hasn’t even watched the speech and is recycling tired and ineffective content. Warning: Jimmy wears blackface,” sharing a picture of Kimmel in blackface.
Chan’s remarks came in response to Kimmel’s comments made during an episode of *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* where the host referred to Trump’s address as an “angry speech.”
Chan pointed out that Kimmel likely didn’t actually view the entire speech, noting that he was filming his show around 5 p.m. ET, which means he would have missed it.
“What a speech. I can’t believe America missed a whole new speech,” Kimmel remarked. He expressed his frustration, claiming that the president’s speech suggested “all foreigners are murderers.”
“While President Trump has claimed no illegal aliens are being allowed into the United States on his watch, there’s always room for those coming in legally to become their next wives,” he quipped.
Kimmel further compared Trump’s comments to a “Christmas message from the Grinch” and made an odd comparison, suggesting that concentration camps are currently in the works in the U.S. “Mr. Trump praised World War II veterans who liberated concentration camps. At the same time, we are building new camps here in the United States,” he said, veering into radical leftist rhetoric.
Notably, *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* is back on air after being briefly off due to Kimmel’s harsh comments suggesting that the assailant of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk may have belonged to a “MAGA gang.” He also mocked Trump’s reaction to the murder of a free speech advocate, including the order to fly the American flag at half-staff.
