New Docuseries on King David Premieres Soon

A fresh series from Fox Nation called “David: King of Israel” promises to take viewers on a heartfelt voyage through the life of David, who is remembered as one of Israel’s most notable kings.

This incredible Biblical narrative illustrates David’s journey from a humble shepherd to a powerful ruler, and he’s viewed by Christians as an ancestor of Jesus Christ.

Starring actor Zachary Levi, known for roles in “Shazam!” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” will host the four-part documentary. His narration is complemented by historical reenactments and expert insights, creating an immersive viewing experience.

The series kicks off on February 26 with the first episode titled “The Shepherd,” where young David battles lions and bears to protect his flock. The second episode, “King of Israel,” is set for release on March 5, focusing on David’s confrontation with Goliath and its aftermath. The subsequent episodes are scheduled for March 12 and March 19.

Levi shared how the immense scale of David’s story has resonated with him since childhood, a tale he thinks many can relate to. “Growing up in a Christian household, the story of David always stood out to me as… just incredible,” he expressed during his appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

He also reflected on the relatability of David, saying, “David is us. He embodies what it means to be a man after God’s own heart.”

Levi elaborated that although David is a Biblical figure, his life was filled with moral challenges and learning moments. He noted that David made poor choices but fundamentally remained a good person, which he believes is still relevant today.

Levi pointed out that society often tends to judge harshly, saying, “It’s easy to call someone a terrible person. But God knows our hearts and views us as His beloved children.”

Beyond spiritual teachings, Levi promised that the docudrama would rival popular fantasy epics, stating, “It’s like the Lord of the Rings of the Bible.” He added that the narrative features giants, witches, and significant battles, encapsulating the struggle between good and evil.

Even for those not coming from a Judeo-Christian background, Levi believes the story holds universal appeal. Episode 2 of “David: King of Israel” will be available for streaming on March 5 exclusively on Fox Nation.
