Mary Cosby honors her son Robert Jr. days after announcing his passing

Mary Cosby is paying tribute to her son, Robert Cosby Jr., who passed away recently at just 23 years old. She took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message. “I’m going to miss you ❤️🙏😢,” she wrote, adding hashtags like #GodFirst and #love.

In her post, Mary shared a photo of herself with young Robert, accompanied by the song “Time After Time” by Jessica Mauboy.

Many of her fellow “Real Housewives” stars left supportive comments. Cynthia Bailey expressed her love and sent prayers, while Heather Dubrow offered her strength. Bozoma St. John reflected on how certain photos can evoke strong memories and feelings. Kyle Richards praised Mary’s parenting, saying, “You were an amazing mom and gave him so much love.”

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, Robert Jr. was found dead after officers responded to an overdose call, which is now being investigated.

Shortly after the news, Mary shared her thoughts, saying that she believed he was finally at peace. “Our hearts are broken, but we are comforted by God’s promises,” she wrote.

The tragedy comes after Robert Jr.’s estranged wife, Alexiana Smokov, filed for divorce last November after a three-year marriage, which was finalized in January. They had secretly married in August 2022.

Leading up to his death, Robert Jr. had been involved in legal issues, including domestic violence charges. After a recent incarceration for violating a protection order, he was charged with aggravated assault and serious assault just days before his passing.

Documents reveal that a victim, who referred to Robert Jr. as her “husband,” claimed he reacted violently over a past drug incident. Robert Jr. had acknowledged his struggles with addiction during his time on reality television and was reportedly trying to turn his life around following his release from jail, according to his attorney.
