Stephen A. Smith Says to James Carville That He Appears ‘Crazy Half The Time’

Stephen A. Smith Discusses James Carville on Podcast

During a recent episode of James Carville’s “Political War Room” podcast, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith expressed his respect for Carville, despite describing him as often appearing “crazy.”

Carville has made headlines for his erratic criticism of former President Donald Trump throughout his second term. Smith acknowledged that their relationship is founded on their shared willingness to tackle challenges together.

“I know who I am. I know what I stand for. I know I support my community and various communities globally, and I always root for America,” Smith remarked. He emphasized the importance of addressing issues openly so that Americans can strive for unity rather than continuing the current polarization.

“I’m not at all afraid of the challenge,” he added, showing his admiration for Carville despite his sometimes chaotic demeanor. “That’s why I’ll always love you, James, even if half the time I think you’re crazy.”

In February, prior to Trump’s State of the Union address, Carville delivered a harsh critique of Trump, calling it a “personal message.” He used colorful language to express his disdain, asserting that many people harbor similar feelings towards the former president.

Following this, Smith reacted critically to Carville’s remarks on his own show, questioning Carville’s mental state and suggesting that his approach might not be the most effective.

“What’s wrong with humans?” Smith wondered, baffled by the situation and the tone of the conversation.
