North Carolina State Football Prepares for Summer Camp
With less than two weeks to go, North Carolina State football is gearing up for summer camp, marking its second season under the guidance of Bill Belichick, a seven-time Super Bowl winner.
Last year, in his debut season in Chapel Hill, Coach Belichick guided the Tar Heels to a 4-8 record, but the team struggled with various off-the-field issues that overshadowed their performance.
The controversy seems to have lingered into the offseason. Notably, Marquise Williams, a distinguished alum and former All-ACC quarterback, has decided to skip this year’s games. His absence will be felt, especially as the upcoming season approaches.
“I’m not going to the UNC football game this year!” he expressed in a post on X. “What I’m hearing is things I never thought about,” he added, accompanied by a heartbroken emoji. He didn’t specify what exactly prompted his decision, leaving fans curious.
Living in North Carolina, Williams is currently the quarterbacks coach at Lewisburg University and ranks sixth in all-time passing yards for UNC.
Details surrounding Williams’ stance remain vague, but much of the discussion has revolved around Coach Belichick’s personal life and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, who is 24 years old.
In a publicized interview last year, Hudson faced scrutiny for allegedly trying to control former NFL coaches during a sit-in, which sparked concerns about her influence on Belichick’s professional decisions.
Recently, North Carolina State’s general manager, Michael Lombardi, addressed the heightened scrutiny of the program, pushing back against what he termed an inaccurate narrative. He emphasized the team’s unity during challenging times.
“During that storm, when the boat was capsizing…the players stuck together,” Lombardi stated while discussing the false rumors and stories that circulated last season.
