Unauthorized High School Student Charged with Inappropriately Touching Several Girls

Allegations Against Undocumented Student in Virginia

An almost 19-year-old undocumented 11th-grade student at a Fairfax County High School in Virginia is facing accusations of molesting over a dozen female students in school hallways. Parents claim that school officials are attempting to cover up the allegations, raising concerns that undocumented students might be allowed back in school despite the serious accusations.

This week, ABC 7News reported that the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Israel Flores Ortiz, an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador who entered the U.S. in 2024 and was released into the country by the Biden administration.

Ortiz faces nine counts of assault and battery after police stated he had molested several female students during recent months in various hallways across the school.

“There is a group of about 12 people reporting this assault,” one mother mentioned during the interview.

It was all done by one person, a stranger to the girls. He approached them from behind and inappropriately touched them. This wasn’t just a light touch; it involved much more personal invasion. It had been happening for several months.

Authorities at the school had been aware of the incidents for over two weeks before notifying parents about the situation.

Fairfax County High School Principal Georgina Ey sent a letter to parents on March 12, which stated that Ortiz was accused of “inappropriate touching.” However, parents stressed that the accusations were much more serious than that.

“We are writing to inform you of the recent arrest of a student charged with inappropriately touching another student at the school,” Ey wrote. “This involved a student touching a peer’s buttocks while moving through the hallway.”

Parents expressed to the reporters that some of the victims are currently experiencing bullying and harassment at school.

Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano had agreed to release Ortiz from jail, but a judge denied this request.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is urging Fairfax County officials and Democratic Governor Abigail Spanberger to ensure Ortiz is extradited if he is released.

Recently, Spanberger criticized a situation involving an illegal immigrant previously tied to a violent crime. Abdul Jallow, another undocumented immigrant, is accused of murdering Stephanie Minter in a separate incident last month. Jallow had faced numerous arrests prior to this, with many charges, including serious felonies, being dropped.
