Republican Strategist Discusses Trump’s Energy Policies
Republican strategist Rob Lockwood recently emphasized that President Donald Trump and his administration have accomplished a significant amount regarding energy, making it “more affordable” during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday.
In an interview with Matthew Boyle, the Washington bureau chief for Breitbart News, Lockwood elaborated on the role of energy in the Trump administration’s broader economic vision.
“That’s what it’s all about. Energy is everything,” Lockwood remarked, criticizing the Biden administration for what he described as a “jihad for affordable and reliable energy.” He noted that relying on intermittent energy sources, favored by the left, means a lack of consistency.
He expressed concern that when Biden and Harris began their campaigns, America was heading toward an “energy Armageddon,” which could have severely impacted the economy and the nation’s diplomatic strength. Lockwood argued that a solid energy policy enhances diplomatic power significantly.
Lockwood praised Trump for what he referred to as the “biggest comeback in history,” highlighting that on his first day in office, Trump declared a national energy emergency, as the country was facing serious energy challenges. He pointed out that during Trump’s tenure, more than 90 percent of electricity generated was unreliable and not continuous, criticizing the Biden administration’s approach to energy sources.
He further discussed what he called the Trump administration’s “four babies”: “drill, baby, drill,” “mine, baby, mine,” “build, baby, build,” and “map, baby, map.”
Lockwood asserted that Trump assembled an “all-star team” to focus on these initiatives, aiming to enhance prosperity in America. He highlighted that when Trump began his second term in January 2025, offshore drilling resumed, and various states, including Alabama and North Dakota, authorized additional coal mining activities — efforts he claimed might have been unlawful under Biden.
“Big things are happening,” Lockwood asserted, suggesting that consumers should have already experienced price relief prior to the current Iranian situation. He believes that once this issue is resolved, prices are likely to decrease again for consumers. Lockwood concluded that the Trump administration has made considerable strides in energy, making life more affordable and curbing the adverse effects of the Biden era.
