‘Satan understands the Bible’: Why James Talarico is more sinister than you realize

Talarico’s Use of Biblical Themes Sparks Debate

Texas Representative James Talarico (D) has been leveraging Biblical themes to advocate for progressive policies. This approach has drawn criticism from Blaze TV host Allie Beth Stuckey, who argues that it misrepresents the foundational teachings of Christianity.

“Satan knows the Bible,” Stuckey mentioned in her show, “Relatable.” She explained that misleading narratives often sound Scriptural or virtuous, gradually undermining moral judgment. “He leads us down the path to hell,” she added.

Stuckey characterized Talarico as a prime example of this phenomenon, citing a clip where Talarico discusses God’s gender. He referenced the first lines of Genesis, claiming that the Bible uses both masculine and feminine terms for God, which he argued makes God non-binary. “God, unlike us, is neither male nor female,” Talarico stated.

Stuckey responded, asserting that while God may possess both masculine and feminine traits, He traditionally identifies as Father, King, and Lord. “It’s clear He created us male and female, with no additional terms to describe those genders,” she said.

Stuckey criticized Talarico for employing theological language as a facade to advance his political agenda. She showed instances of him combining sermons with political commentary on topics like transgender rights and abortion.

During a recent speech, Talarico remarked, “This summer, more than half of our population became second-class citizens,” addressing those affected by restrictive laws regarding abortion and women’s rights.

He also emphasized the necessity of including transgender Texans in discussions around healthcare and rights, declaring, “Advocating for the trans community is something we have to do every day.” Additionally, he clarified his use of the term ‘woman’ as a critical lens to examine patriarchal structures.

Stuckey argued that Talarico’s views represent a shift in what was once considered controversial even among Democrats. He openly supports the idea that gender changes are normal and sees the rights for transgender individuals to access abortion services on public funding as a moral stance.

In discussing abortion, Talarico referenced the Biblical story of Mary, suggesting that divine consent is a theme underpinning the issue. “Creation must be done with consent,” he concluded.

Stuckey countered his take on the story, suggesting that Mary’s acceptance was not a choice but rather obedience to God’s will. “It’s not like a choice she’s making,” she noted.
