The upcoming 98th Academy Awards is set to be a grand spectacle, where celebrities revel in their own fame. Each year, these stars are gifted luxurious items, with this year’s bounty for the 25 nominees valued at approximately $350,000, all just for showing up.
This will be the 24th edition of the Academy Awards, and some attendees will receive a uniquely named gift bag titled “Everyone Wins.”
Included in these bags are cutting-edge wellness products along with high-end beauty items and lavish vacation packages.
The company Distinctive Assets will supply these gifts to the stars in exclusive suitcases, stepping in after the Academy discontinued its official extravagant gift bags in 2006.
These luxury bags not only contain skincare products but also emphasize secluded villas that ensure privacy, allowing high-profile guests to unwind without public scrutiny.
One notable option is a breathtaking $9 million, 15,500-square-foot villa situated in the mountains of Costa Rica. Additionally, there’s a stunning glass-walled villa providing an arctic getaway where the Northern Lights can be enjoyed from the comfort of a bed.
“We manage an array of stunning luxury villas globally, including properties in Ibiza, Finland, and Sri Lanka, collectively valued at around $200,000,” said Rush Farley, the founder of Distinctive Assets, in an interview.
This year also features a few controversial prizes, such as a custom prenuptial agreement crafted by lawyer James Sexton and a body sculpting session with Dr. Thomas Hsu.
Farley mentioned that some celebrities will utilize their visibility to highlight small businesses that could greatly benefit from the exposure.
The list of recipients for the gift bags includes A-list stars like Emma Stone, Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Hudson, and Michael B. Jordan, along with some first-time nominees.
Actors portray various characters, recite scripted lines, and thrive on hefty paychecks in return for their work—it’s truly a remarkable industry if you can get a foothold in it.
