Iran Claims Cardboard Khamenei is 'in Excellent Health' Amidst Rumors of Leg Amputation and Homosexuality

Iran’s Leadership Amid Ongoing Tension

On Sunday, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, assured the public that Mojtaba Khamenei, the newly appointed “supreme leader” and son of Ali Khamenei, is “in perfect health.” This statement appears to counter rampant speculation suggesting that the younger Khamenei had sustained severe injuries.

Back on February 28, President Donald Trump revealed Operation Epic Fury, which resulted in the removal of 86-year-old Ali Khamenei from power, leaving Iran in a leadership vacuum. Shortly thereafter, Iranian officials announced that Mojtaba Khamenei, a figure without prior public office experience, had been selected as the new “supreme leader.”

This operation didn’t stop with Khamenei; it also saw many senior officials ousted, creating confusion about who is currently at the helm. While Massoud Pezeshikian holds the presidential office, his role is largely subordinate to the “supreme leader,” and he has made few remarks since the conflict escalated.

Mojtaba has notably avoided public appearances since his designation. After several days of silence, state television aired what it claimed was a statement from him, advocating continued conflict against the U.S. and Israel while threatening to shut down the Strait of Hormuz. Interestingly, the footage presented during a “loyalty” ceremony showed only a cardboard figure representing him, leading to further speculation.

His absence during a crucial war period has fueled concerns about his health and credibility within the Iranian regime. In light of this, Araghchi, a prominent figure in the remaining government, insisted that Khamenei is healthy and actively managing the country.

Araghchi emphasized, “The revolutionary leader is in perfect health and is fully controlling the situation.” He added that the timing of Khamenei’s public appearances is his personal choice.

In other remarks, Araghchi claimed that Iran’s military operations in neighboring countries never targeted civilian areas, despite objections from nations like Saudi Arabia and the UAE. He did recognize some instances of “collateral damage,” but suggested that Israel might be behind attacks on civilian sites to undermine Iran’s relations with these Arab states.

On Monday, Araghchi proclaimed that Iran is nearing victory over the United States, stating, “In a few days, we will celebrate victory in this war.” He maintained that there has been no request for a ceasefire.

Since his rise to power, there have been rumors regarding Mojtaba Khamenei’s fitness to lead. Speculation intensified when state media reported he had been injured, possibly even disfigured in the airstrike that killed his father. Reports suggested he had suffered severe injuries to his legs, arms, and hands.

Alireza Salarian, Iran’s Ambassador to Cyprus, speculated early in the conflict that Khamenei was hospitalized due to his injuries. In a twist, unverified claims surfaced stating that he sought treatment in Russia.

The narrative surrounding Khamenei’s leadership capabilities is mixed. Some sources have described him as “more dangerous” and “bloodthirsty” than his father, while others hint that his father, Ali Khamenei, considers him “not very bright” or “not qualified” for such responsibility.

In an additional controversial report, U.S. intelligence suggested to President Trump that Mojtaba Khamenei was gay and involved in a long-term relationship with his childhood tutor, although these claims lack solid evidence.

Mojtaba Khamenei’s first public message as “Supreme Leader” was a call for “vengeance,” indicating a commitment to the repressive regime. He asserted that the issue of closing the Strait of Hormuz would remain a priority until complete action was undertaken.

However, Iranian officials quickly denied any intention to close the strategic waterway, with Iran’s UN special envoy making it clear there were no plans for such actions.

In response to the situations at hand, Trump has dismissed Khamenei’s statements as trivial, asserting that peace could only be achieved if Iran aligns with U.S. expectations and halts support for terrorism. In a peculiar remark, Khamenei expressed his belief that he existed “in some form.”
