That’s some serious frustration.
Rapper Chika has voiced her displeasure after Delta Air Lines baggage handlers allegedly discarded her pricey designer suitcase. Surprisingly, she isn’t just letting it slide.
The 29-year-old, whose real name is Jane Chika Oranika, took to social media to express her anger upon discovering her $5,000 Rimowa bag returned with cracks.
She shared images showing the damage and criticized Delta for employing “mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging” staff who treat passengers’ belongings carelessly.
Her light blue bag, which she purchased only last September, was nearly new. To make matters worse, she claimed this wasn’t an isolated incident; another sage green set from the same brand had also been ruined on a prior flight.
Chika expresses her disbelief, saying, “I’m absolutely convinced that Delta Airlines only employs mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals who don’t know how to be nice to people, unless they’re told not to throw things around.”
Her exasperation intensified as she added, “I hate everyone who works for them, and this time they’ve escalated things even further. I’m going to make you pay because I can’t even replace this bag. Just like the sage green, that color is no longer available. You folks broke those too.”
In a candid Instagram Story, she described her experience, stating, “Someone needs to start taking pictures of this,” insisting the bag wasn’t heavy, and lamenting how carelessly it was handled.
“You destroyed my luggage. I just got it. It’s not heavy. They just broke it. They don’t even make that suitcase anymore. I just got rid of the other things they broke, both of them,” she explained.
Chika gained recognition in 2018 with a viral freestyle that included a critique of Kanye West for his support of Donald Trump. This spotlight led her to appearances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and a deal with Warner Records.
With her swift rise, she was even nominated for the Best New Artist award at the 2020 Grammy Awards, sharing the stage with notable artists like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, and Bruno Mars.
