Joseph Duggar Arrested on Serious Charges

Former reality TV star Joseph Duggar has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old girl during a vacation. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Florida announced the charges, which include “Lewd and Lascivious Behavior” involving unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

The police statement revealed that on March 18, 2026, investigators were contacted by a detective from the Tontitown Police Department regarding a report of prior sexual abuse. The victim, now 14, had participated in a forensic interview where she recounted several incidents involving Duggar while the family was on vacation in Panama City Beach when she was just 9 years old.

According to the investigation, the reported incidents took place in 2020 at a residence on Danny Drive. The victim stated that Duggar asked her to sit on his lap repeatedly and later invited her to sit next to him on a couch, covering them with a blanket. During this time, he allegedly manipulated her underwear and touched her inappropriately. She also mentioned that he continued to rub his hands on her thighs.

The victim reportedly said that Duggar apologized for his behavior, after which the alleged incidents stopped. Investigators found that the victim’s father confronted Duggar about these events on March 17, 2026. Duggar supposedly admitted his actions to both the victim’s father and the police detectives.

Duggar was arrested in a different state and is currently awaiting extradition back to Bay County. It’s worth noting that his older brother, Josh, is serving a 12-year sentence for child pornography charges.
