Concerns Arise as YouTuber Nick Shirley Critiques California Governor
YouTuber Nick Shirley has raised eyebrows regarding Governor Gavin Newsom’s recent criticism of him, and he believes it signals troubling implications for California.
Shirley, known for his conservative views, has found himself under scrutiny after claiming he uncovered extensive misuse of taxpayer-funded programs in the state.
In his remarks, Shirley expressed his suspicion that Newsom’s attacks are aimed at discouraging others from investigating potential misconduct in California’s government.
“I think they’re trying to scare others away from doing what they did to me, because the cheating is so deeply embedded,” Shirley stated in a discussion with NewsNation’s Katie Pavlich. “But, honestly, it really backfired on them.”
He further mentioned that he had previously offered collaboration, wondering aloud if there was an injustice that could be addressed together.
“If I were in his position, I’d be focused on exposing the issues rather than attacking those shining a light on them,” he added.
Newsom’s office recently published a controversial manipulated image of Shirley, showcasing a daycare background with surveillance cameras, and included a concerning question about monitoring the children.
In response, Shirley remarked, “Look, I’m here to help put an end to fraud and waste in America. There’s no need to paint me as the villain just for revealing the truth. People are fed up; it’s time for you to start working for them, not against them.”
Shirley mentioned during the conversation he hasn’t had any discussions with federal authorities regarding fraud allegations. However, he did share that a man in Los Angeles had been arrested on identity theft charges related to healthcare identification numbers.
He’s been actively looking into the healthcare fraud situation unfolding in California, particularly in Los Angeles.
The investigations have spotlighted hospice care providers, especially in an office complex in Van Nuys, which raises numerous fraud-related red flags. This location has 89 licensed hospice companies, yet the owners claim only 12 of them are actual approved tenants.
Shirley visited Van Nuys to investigate Miracle Healing Hospice Inc., which he alleges fraudulently billed the state over $1.3 million, with Medicare covering around $966,000 of that amount. He noted that the building appeared deserted.
While pointing out high-end vehicles, including a Tesla Cybertruck, in the parking lot, he asserted, “There’s massive fraud happening here in California.”
Shirley has also criticized Newsom for seemingly backing fraudulent activities while attempting to expose them. “He’s literally supporting those cheating the system,” he claimed in an interview on Fox News.
