Miranda Lambert is parting ways with her childhood home.
The 42-year-old country music star’s family home in Lindale, Texas, is now on the market for $1.59 million. Lambert’s parents, Rick and Beverly, are selling the property with the help of Compass real estate agent Lee Trowbridge.
According to Trowbridge, “This property was home for the Lambert family until they moved out about a year ago. During their time there, it hosted many people, including those in need of support or a temporary place to stay.”
The report mentions that Lambert resided in the house from age 14 to 21 and purchased the distinctive pink house on the property right after signing her first record deal. Interestingly, she continues to own that pink house.
This home, which dates back to 1923, spans 4,643 square feet. It includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms, seamlessly blending modern amenities with vintage charm.
Outdoors, there’s 2,500 square feet of living space, complete with a brick courtyard, an outdoor kitchen, a covered patio, and a private dock that leads to a pond.
Furthermore, the site includes a metal warehouse, a store with extra bathrooms, and even a designated shooting range, which I find a bit unusual for a family home.
Trowbridge emphasized that the property’s appeal lies in its mix of country music history and ample outdoor space. He pointed out the combination of charming vintage features and practical amenities like the shop and shooting range, adding a unique touch to country living.
Of note, Lambert didn’t write her 2009 hit “The House That Built Me,” but it’s a song she feels deeply connected to, often reflecting on her upbringing. The lyrics tell the story of someone returning to a childhood home to revisit happy memories.
In a podcast, Lambert discussed how, when she was younger, her family faced challenges that forced them to start fresh. She recounted her father’s determination to ensure they would never go hungry, even renting out land to make ends meet.
Lambert kicked off her music career by finishing third on “Nashville Star” in 2003, which opened the door for her first album release, Kerosene, in 2005. That album went platinum and helped establish her presence in the country music scene.
Since then, she’s put out seven more albums and has won numerous awards, including two Grammys for Best Country Album. In fact, she holds the record for the most Academy of Country Music Awards, tallying up 35 wins, including an impressive nine consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year titles.
Recently, she collaborated with Kacey Musgraves on a track from Musgraves’ new album. Interestingly, the two have a bit of a history, as there were rumors of tension stemming from a past song release that Lambert originally planned to do.
Musgraves has spoken about how that situation ultimately worked out for both of them creatively, expressing satisfaction with how things turned out.
