Kurt Russell Shares His Love for Colorado Living
Kurt Russell recently expressed that life in Colorado feels quite different from his days in Hollywood. Currently starring in Taylor Sheridan’s series “Madison,” Russell opened up about how he and Goldie Hawn split their time between Los Angeles and Colorado.
“What I enjoy most is how much Goldie loves Colorado,” he shared. “Wyatt and Meredith and their two sons are here too, so we want to spend as much time together as we can.”
He noted that their lifestyle now resembles that of his character in “Madison,” moving back and forth between the two locations. “I really want to spend more time there. The lifestyle is just different, and that’s what it’s all about,” he continued.
In a recent chat with a publication, Russell revealed that they have homes in places like Palm Desert and New York, but his heart is in Colorado. “We love real estate,” he said, adding that their Colorado home is, by far, his favorite.
“Our Old Snowmass home is a beautiful log cabin lodge on a ranch, and we’ve been here for over 40 years,” he remarked, reflecting on how he and Goldie have always had a thing for log homes. “Starting with our place in Maine, it never left me.”
For Russell, mornings spent gazing out at the mountains from his home are a cherished routine. He mentioned that just like his character in “Madison,” who finds peace in the Colorado scenery, he feels the same in real life. “I moved to Colorado when I was 26. At some point, you need to ask yourself if you’re living life to the fullest or just talking about it. I chose to live it,” he said.
He explained that while most of his work was still based out of Los Angeles, he felt fortunate to navigate a lifestyle that allowed for both business and personal enjoyment. “It happened naturally,” he noted, especially when considering his long history with fly fishing.
Riding the wave of his current role in “Madison,” Russell shared that there are clear parallels between the character he plays and his own life experiences. “It’s been a long time since we’ve witnessed a genuine, successful long-term relationship on screen. There’s a lot of relatability in the family dynamics that Taylor Sheridan managed to capture in the script,” he added. “The story dives deep into personal challenges and growth.”
As for his co-star, Michelle Pfeiffer, Russell praised her performance, acknowledging that she truly brought her character to life. “I just knew she would be fantastic,” he concluded, genuinely impressed. Along with Pfeiffer, “Madison” also features an ensemble cast including Beau Garrett and Matthew Fox, and the first season premiered on March 14.
