American tennis player Danielle Collins stirred up some conversation over the weekend with her remarks about French player Corentin Moutet, suggesting that he had been sending her flirty messages on social media.
Her comments were made while she was serving as a Tennis Channel anchor on Sunday, following an incident at the Miami Open where Moutet allegedly shouted at her during warm-ups.
“I joked with him that if he’s going to flirt so much, he better work on his serve,” Collins remarked. She continued, “Some people point out my height or my personality, but it ultimately comes down to having a powerful forehand and serve.”
Collins also shared a funny anecdote about Moutet unfollowing her after her dating profile went viral. “Look, I’m 5’10”, and that matters to me. It’s nothing personal. I think he was annoyed after I told him I wasn’t interested,” she said. “Just yesterday, he slid back into my DMs, asking if I caught his game and how well he was serving…but, you know, it’s complicated.”
Meanwhile, Moutet denied any flirting, responding on social media with skepticism. “How can I unfollow you if I never followed you in the first place? You have the wrong idea,” he quipped before questioning the narrative. “It seems like you’re just trying to get attention.”
Collins, currently ranked 99th in the world, previously peaked at No. 7 in 2022 but missed out on the 2026 Australian Open.
Moutet, aged 26, is about 5’11” tall and debuted professionally in 2014. He is ranked 33rd globally and made it to the third round of the recent Australian Open.
