Ms. Rachel from YouTube and Netflix Advocates to Shut Down Texas ICE Facility: 'I Am Political'

Rachel, known for her work as a children’s content creator on platforms like YouTube and Netflix, has shifted her focus from advocating for the Hamas-led Palestinian cause to criticizing President Donald Trump and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

In a recent episode, Rachel (whose full name is Rachel Ann Acaso) held a video chat with an immigrant child currently in detention at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in South Texas.

During this interaction, she learned that 9-year-old Diver Henao Jimenez was upset about missing out on his school’s spelling bee.

“It felt so surreal to see his sweet little face and realize I was talking to someone who was essentially imprisoned,” Accurso remarked, reflecting on the emotional impact this experience had on her. “It really broke me, and I never thought I would encounter something like this.”

“We’re working to get kids released and helping them participate in spelling bees,” she added. “I can’t believe this is where we are.”

The outspoken entertainer also spoke with other individuals held at the same facility.

Accurso claimed that the Dilley center fails to provide adequate food and mistreats children awaiting immigration proceedings. The Department of Homeland Security contests these allegations.

She raised concerns about medical issues faced by some detainees, including a child named Gale who has developmental delays and has difficulty speaking. Reports indicated he also experienced severe constipation while held in Dilley and might need specialized medical attention.

“Imagine if your child went without a bowel movement for nine days,” Accurso expressed. “That’s not normal. This is a serious health issue. Treating a child in such a manner is unacceptable. It’s neglectful and abusive.”

Randy Clark, a former U.S. Border Patrol agent with 32 years of service, argued in response that the Dilley facility has family units with separate dormitories to ensure privacy and noted that the doors in that section are not locked.

“I visited in 2019, spoke with staff, and toured the school and medical facilities that provide educational support for school-aged kids in detention,” explained Clark, who now writes for Breitbart.

He also highlighted several amenities available at Dilley.

  • A 24-hour snack bar, a cafeteria serving three meals daily, an indoor gym with a basketball court, and a designated area for movies.
  • A beauty salon for women, along with a childcare center available for use by parents.
  • A library featuring multilingual law resources, and a court for handling asylum and deportation cases, in addition to a gaming room for children.

These facilities and privileges were introduced during President Trump’s administration, although Biden has since terminated some contracts.

“Last I heard, schools with certified teachers are supposed to reopen soon, which seems promising,” Clark mentioned.

“All residential areas and facilities have animal-themed signs to help multilingual residents navigate the campus,” he added.

“There were no armed guards inside, so people moved around freely; that’s why I encountered female residents more concerned about their new underwear than anything else!” he recalled.

Rachel has been in the political arena for a while and has faced allegations of using her platform to promote her political beliefs through children. She openly acknowledged to NBC that her approach is indeed political.

“I’m a politician,” she declared. “It’s a political stance to believe that all children deserve love and care, that they should be treated equally regardless of outward appearances, family background, religion, or the country they come from.”
