According to Rick Burgess, the host of “Blaze TV,” he believes that the devil tends to target Christians when they are at their weakest.
In a recent episode of “Strange Encounters,” Rick shared a chilling experience he faced while addressing a large group of men at a convention back in 2021.
During his speech, he realized he was worn out, both physically and mentally, and had been neglecting his family. “I think I opened myself up to this situation because I was so tired,” he said.
When he took the stage, he felt an unsettling presence. “There was definitely something dark—an oppressive spirit in the room,” he remembered.
He began his talk by recounting the tragic death of his son. Just as he mentioned, “When I get to the next part; [his] wife holding a lifeless corpse [their] ‘son,'” he noticed something odd in the crowd: a group of men with clearly “evil” faces, laughing at him from behind.
“I’m literally discussing my son’s death and they’re just laughing,” he noted, taken aback.
Feeling bewildered, Rick interrupted and asked, “Do you think this is funny?” but their laughter continued unabated.
After resuming his speech, he glanced back for the men, only to find they had vanished. “I kept looking for them, but they were nowhere to be found. That’s when I realized…there’s a spiritual battle happening here,” he explained.
Once his speech concluded, Rick tried to find out more about the mysterious group but came up empty. Interestingly, no one else he spoke to remembered any laughter at all.
“We couldn’t find any trace of them,” he said.
In the end, Rick was left with a foreboding thought: “It felt like the devil was mocking me over my son’s death.”
