Carville tells Maher to 'stop being so influenced by Bari Weiss' during Trump discussion

James Carville Critiques Trump and Maher on Podcast

On a recent episode of his podcast “Politics War Room,” Democratic strategist James Carville offered strong criticisms of both President Donald Trump and comedian Bill Maher. His remarks came after Trump made comments regarding former FBI Director Robert Mueller, while Maher discussed what he termed “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

“Please, Bill, take your head out of Bari Weiss’ ‘Um,'” Carville remarked, addressing Maher directly.

This exchange followed Maher’s suggestion that Carville seemed like a “crazy old man” influenced by what he referred to as Trump Derangement Syndrome, indicating that Carville represented a part of the political media that feels out of touch with the average American.

Carville, unapologetic, summarized the criticism and countered, “You’re saying me and people like me are just mad… Well, I can’t stand Mr. Trump.” He took a moment to embrace the criticism, admitting, “I agree with you. I’m crazy… Like many, I’m just as crazy.”

Reflecting on the current political climate, Carville described how people like him feel alarmed and frustrated. “We wake up at 2 a.m., upset about the state of our country. We can’t believe this person is our president,” he said. “Perhaps our madness shows we’re actually sane.”

Carville then commented on Trump’s reaction to Mueller’s passing, expressing disbelief that Trump seemed “delighted” by the news. He questioned how such a reaction might alter perspectives among critics.

In conclusion, Carville emphasized his commitment to his views, asserting that critics could mock him, but he wouldn’t waver. “We’re not going to change… we’re not stepping back,” he stated. Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Davis Engle dismissed Carville, calling him a “total loser” suffering from what he described as a debilitating syndrome related to Trump.
