Moses Moody carried off after serious injury in overtime

Moses Moody Injured During Warriors’ Victory Over Mavericks

Before a knee injury sidelined Warriors guard Moses Moody on Monday night, he believed he had just made a crucial defensive play, one that would cap off a significant win against the Mavericks.

With a five-point lead in overtime, Moody stole the ball from rookie Cooper Flagg and attempted a slam dunk. Unfortunately, he hurt his leg during the move and fell to the ground on his knees.

He was swiftly removed from the court, clearly in distress and holding his left knee, which seemed to be dislocated.

There hasn’t yet been an official diagnosis, but early indications suggest the injury could be serious.

Some users on X, who often act like armchair doctors, are speculating it might be a ruptured left patellar tendon, likely requiring surgery or more intensive treatment.

Moody had just returned from an extended absence, having previously missed nearly a month in March due to wrist and shoulder problems.

“It’s just cruel; we’ve all been waiting for him,” said Warriors forward Draymond Green. “Moses is someone who does everything right… he really made a difference for us tonight.”

Even though Moody’s teammates and coaches were clearly shaken by the injury, the Warriors won the game 137-131, improving their season record to 34-38.

Moody led the team with 23 points that night.

Coach Steve Kerr expressed his thoughts after the game, stating, “Mo is not just a great player; he’s a wonderful person. His work ethic has been commendable.”

With Moody’s future in question, the Warriors are now tasked with preparing for the potential loss of a key player.

This win keeps them in the playoff race; they currently hold the No. 10 seed in the competitive Western Conference.

On a related note, star guard Stephen Curry is also on the mend from his injury and is expected back soon.

The team sits at No. 9, just 1.5 games behind the Trail Blazers, with 10 games left in the season.
