Long Island resident Brittany Kritis-Garip has disappeared in Oyster Bay after jumping from a moving vehicle in fear.

A woman from Long Island has gone missing after a frantic episode led her to jump out of a moving vehicle and run away. Concerned family and friends fear for her safety.

Brittany Kritis Galip, 32, was captured on surveillance footage around 8 PM Friday in Oyster Bay, a wealthy area, before her disappearance was reported, according to local news.

“We’ve searched the woods, the surroundings, everywhere we can think of. We urgently need the public’s assistance to find her,” Galip expressed during a media interview on Sunday.

“We’ll keep searching until she’s home. It doesn’t matter what we have to do.”

Volunteers scoured a mile of marshy beach near Oyster Bay Harbor after her wallet was discovered on a road leading there by her friend Sarah Castor. This was shared on Facebook previously.

Castor, who is coordinating the search for the missing woman, emphasized that every moment is critical.

“The authorities are involved, but time really matters,” Castor wrote on a GoFundMe page, expressing the intention to hire a private investigator.

The aim of employing a private investigator, she said, is to explore a broader area and follow leads more swiftly.

Since Kritis Galip’s disappearance, Nassau County police have employed aircraft, including helicopters and drones, to aid in the search along the border of East Norwich and Oyster Bay.

Castor has encouraged the public to inspect both public and private areas for any signs of Kritis Galip, advising checks on sheds, garages, pool houses, and similar spots.

Kritis Galip is described as a white female with brown hair and eyes, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds.

She also urged nearby residents and businesses to continue reviewing surveillance footage for any sign of the missing woman.

“We think she may have been disoriented, frightened, and thought she was in trouble,” Castor noted. “She’s not in danger—she needs help.”

“Brittany is deeply cherished, and we are doing everything we can to locate her. We truly appreciate the support we’ve received,” she concluded.

If anyone has any information about Kritis Galip’s whereabouts, they are urged to contact the Nassau County Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit.
