Chris Cuomo Asserts There Is No Voter Fraud — Then Proposes That Some Is Acceptable

Cuomo Challenges Voter Fraud Claims on His Podcast

Chris Cuomo, host of “The Chris Cuomo Project,” asserted on Thursday that voter fraud is essentially nonexistent, dismissing the notion that “one person is too many” as an illogical argument. His comments came while he was critiquing the American Voter Eligibility Protection Act, also known as SAVE.

While discussing the topic, Cuomo referenced President Donald Trump, stating that voter fraud is “nothing” and advocated for both early voting and mail-in voting. He also mentioned having voted by mail in a recent special election in Florida.

Cuomo expressed frustration, arguing, “This isn’t about getting better. It’s about getting less. That’s the problem. We need more participation.” He challenged the fear of increased fraud by noting that such instances simply haven’t materialized, mentioning that studies have consistently shown this. He went on to dismiss concerns about voter fraud as exaggerated.

The Heritage Foundation has a resource detailing recent proven cases of election fraud, but it admits that the information is “not comprehensive,” varying by state. The CATO Institute has also raised doubts regarding claims of widespread illegal voting by non-citizens.

The SAVE Act is designed to mandate proof of citizenship for voting in federal elections, requiring photo identification at polling places and eliminating mail-only voter registration. President Trump has been a strong proponent of this act, insisting on citizenship verification before anyone can register to vote. He indicated he would not approve any funding bills until the SAVE America Act is passed, linking it to broader legislative agreements.

While Republicans largely back the bill, Democrats have labeled it as an attempt at voter suppression.
