Hollywood and the Controversy Surrounding JK Rowling

When discussing the Hollywood left, one can’t overlook its cruelty. Recently, actor Andrew Garfield criticized author JK Rowling during a podcast, where she was condemned for standing up for women’s rights. In his remarks, he chose to dehumanize her, suggesting she wasn’t worth mentioning.

However, Garfield’s comments revealed that, in this scenario, he was the one indifferent to the potential harm inflicted upon transgender individuals. He even admitted to actions that impacted the transgender community negatively.

“I hadn’t seen the Harry Potter films until recently… and I think Daniel Radcliffe did a great job. Those movies were really enjoyable,” Garfield noted.

Then, almost like someone desperately trying to prove their loyalty to a group, he continued, “I know it’s controversial, and we shouldn’t be – you know – funneling money through her to support harmful legislation.” Clearly, he was referring to Rowling. “But a lot of the essence of those films and the kids’ messages are really positive.”

But what does he mean by “inhumane laws”? Is he suggesting that Rowling is justifying the protection of women in spaces like prisons and shelters from dangerous individuals? Or, perhaps, is he implying that she advocates for safeguarding women and girls from male competitors who undermine their accomplishments in sports?

Just look at the kind of individual Andrew Garfield is. He can’t simply say, “You know, I really enjoyed the Harry Potter movies.” Instead, he opts for a cautionary take that reflects poorly on his character while highlighting Hollywood’s oppressive atmosphere towards dissenting thoughts.

When contemplating Garfield’s statements and admissions, one might conclude he is worse than most, as he seems to put his own interests above the welfare of transgender individuals.

It’s worth pondering…

Most people don’t believe they are doing harm when enjoying a Harry Potter film.

Yet, surprisingly, Garfield implied that watching those movies could be detrimental to trans individuals… and he proceeded to do it anyway!

He remarked, “We shouldn’t be financing harmful legislation through a girlfriend whose name we don’t even know.”

But here’s the kicker: he still went along with it, right?

Garfield comes off as selfish and inconsiderate, willing to support “inhumane legislation” just to indulge in more movies.

Rowling believes she is offering aid to others, while Andrew Garfield acknowledges that his actions could be damaging but chooses to carry on regardless.

By his own criteria, Andrew Garfield appears to be a villain.
