Update on Tiger Woods’ Rollover Accident
Late Friday, a photograph of Tiger Woods emerged shortly after he was involved in a rollover accident in Florida. This image, taken at the Martin County Jail, depicts Woods with bloodshot eyes, facing the camera.
Earlier in the day, during a press briefing, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office shared more details regarding the incident. Sheriff John Budensiek confirmed that Woods, who crashed his Land Rover into a pressure washer, luckily did not injure anyone. However, following the accident, Woods exited through the passenger side window.
A drug recognition expert assessed him on-site and observed signs of impairment. Budensiek mentioned that Woods had completed a breathalyzer test, which showed no alcohol in his system, although he refused to take a urine test. Authorities suspect he might have been using medication or narcotic substances.
According to the sheriff, Woods cooperated during the investigation but was cautious with his words to avoid self-incrimination. Consequently, Woods faces charges for driving under the influence (DUI), criminal damage to property, and refusing a urine test. He is required to remain in jail for a minimum of eight hours due to the DUI charge.
The accident occurred on a two-lane road with a speed limit of 30 mph, indicating that Woods was likely exceeding that limit.
President Donald Trump expressed his concern about the situation, referring to Woods as a “close friend.” He remarked, “There was an accident, that’s all I know. He’s a very close friend of mine. He’s a great guy, a great guy.”
Interestingly, Woods is reportedly in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, who is the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr.
Earlier in the day, reports indicated that the rollover accident took place on Jupiter Island around 2 p.m. local time. The incident is under investigation by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, which plans to provide additional updates during a press conference at 5 p.m. ET.
Details surrounding the cause of the accident or Woods’ condition remain vague at this time.
In February 2021, Woods experienced a separate car accident near Los Angeles, where his SUV rolled over multiple times, leaving him with severe injuries to his lower right leg, resulting in emergency surgery.
This is breaking news. Please stay tuned for further updates.
