'No Kings' movement announces more than 3,500 protests set for this Saturday

No Kings Movement Plans Nationwide Protests

No Kings, a decentralized protest group against President Donald Trump’s potential second term, is set to host numerous events across the country on Saturday morning. Sarah Parker, an organizer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, stated that over 3,500 events are planned nationwide.

“I think this is the moment to take to the streets to save our country,” Parker shared. She emphasized that the demonstrations have been peaceful, uniting millions of Americans with diverse backgrounds and beliefs in their local communities.

While Parker did not detail how No Kings collaborates with local organizers, she noted that the protests aim to amplify dissent against the current administration.

“This is an organic movement,” Parker explained, pointing out that volunteers from various areas, even rural regions, have come forward to host events. “We have hundreds in rural areas and states that lean red,” she added.

Unlike many traditional organizations, No Kings isn’t a formal entity, which adds a layer of mystery to its structure. This decentralized nature means there’s little in the way of financial accountability and no clear leadership.

The movement emerged in June 2025 with “No Kings Day,” an event described on their website as stirring a nationwide uprising that reportedly surpassed the scale of Trump’s inauguration events combined.

The upcoming protests are poised to continue challenging Trump’s recent policies, especially regarding Iran and immigration issues. The movement’s website outlines various concerns, including what they describe as a “masked secret police force” instilling fear within communities and an ongoing war that’s raising costs for families.

Parker mentioned that No Kings provides organizers with a toolkit to help them set up their events—from recruiting speakers to handling logistics, highlighting their structured approach despite being a decentralized movement.

As for the organization’s reach, a map displaying the Saturday events indicates organized actions in major metropolitan areas, with Minneapolis positioned as a key location. Interestingly, Parker is connected to another decentralized group called 50501, yet she did not clarify the relationship between the two.

When inquired about the meaning of 50501, Parker explained that it originally symbolized “50 states, 50 capitols, one day.” She also mentioned that the group is not registered as a nonprofit.

Parker urged elected officials of all parties to regard the message from No Kings. “This is about listening to constituents,” she asserted, emphasizing that their call to action is meant for everyone on Capitol Hill.
